Dentist Antioch Daily Tips to Care for Teeth

Your Antioch Dentist has Advice for Quick Dental Care

Since summer is coming approaching fast, people’s schedules will be filling up fast! Between work, parties, barbeques, and the like, there will feel like there’s no time to even sleep! But there’s something that you need to remember when you’re on the move, and that’s your dental care. From your Antioch Dentist here at East Bay Dental, here are some daily tips to take care of your teeth.

Even though you’re in a rush to get out of your house, take your time to stand in front of your sink and brush your teeth. Spend at least two minutes brushing. While it seems like a long time, you’ll be thanking yourself in the long run. Keep a timer on, if you have trouble timing it yourself. Brushing your teeth when you wake up and before you go to sleep is extremely important and will increase your oral health. Don’t forget to floss, as well!

If you’re a forgetful person, or maybe you’re just in big rush, then keeping a travel sized toothpaste, toothbrush and floss with you in your car or in your bag. Putting them somewhere that it’s convenient for you to have, if you’ve forgotten to brush your teeth in the morning or you’ve just had a big meal with lingering food breath, then snagging your essentials can get you out of a sticky (or stinky) situation!

Drinking water benefits your oral health, just like it does your general health! Since there is a small amount of fluoride in the water (which is also in toothpastes—if your toothpaste doesn’t have any, switch it out now!), it’s helping rebuild the minerals that were broken down by the acidity from your food and drinks.

Sugarless gum is also helpful to improving your oral health. It works your jaw and has sweeteners that don’t do any damage to your teeth and enamel. People are less likely to carry around a spare toothbrush and toothpaste than they will a pack of gum, so if you’re at the grocery store then it won’t hurt to pick some up!
